RAW Boston presents: CUSP
In the beginning of February I went to an art show called RAW Boston presents: CUSP. This event allows artist of all forms to share and sell their work. When my friend Geraldin told me that her cousin Sage would be showcasing her work, it literally took me all of five minutes to purchase my tickets.
Sage's work is so damn good, I could not miss the opportunity to show up and support her. I would also like to share that I have this odd obsession with artists and paying for their work while they are alive. I find that people only appreciate art after someone is gone, which is TRASH.
The venue's aesthetic was perfect for the event and there was just enough space to move around and appreciate the work. It seemed like every type of artist was there that night. Geraldin and I kept finding something new each time we walked around the venue.
Listen when I tell you I love everything Sage creates, I love EVERYTHING! I just wish I had the budget for art and some place to hang it all.
There is something about an artist creating their work to express different emotions or phases in their lives to then, have that same work be interpreted completely different from its viewer. It stands how it was created and invokes different aspects from everyone but it stays the same. No matter how it is viewed or how it makes you feel, it is true to each individual and that is dope.
Throughout the night we walked around and took in all the work. From oil paintings to fashion shows, we we immersed in art. I gathered my whole life and snapped some of my favorites from that night. All the artist and their links are listed below and if you get a chance you should head over to Raw to see everyone who showcased their work that night.**
Y'all know I couldn't leave there without making a few purchases, right? Check them out below:
