Skincare: Topicals Faded

Skincare: Topicals Faded

Here’s a short story about a girl who did not have any issues with her skin throughout her young adult life. No issues during puberty, nada! Until one day, that young lady turned 21, and as she decide to turn up, so did her face. You know who that story is about? Yeah, me.

I was fortunate enough not to have to deal with skin issues on my face for a large portion of my life, right up until adulthood. And those hormonal and non-hormonal breakouts caused a lot of dark spots to appear on my face. Since then, I have been trying to get it back in order.

Okay, I’m lying a lil bit, LOL! I didn’t care very much; to be honest, I never really minded and honestly still don’t mind; my face is my face with or without makeup. I honestly started to get my face in order so that my texture would be better with makeup on; that’s the honest truth. I feel like I’m rambling, so let’s jump into the good shit, what you’re here for. Topicals Faded Serum ($38 USD)

I started using Topicals Faded in March 2022. Honestly, I bought it because of the packaging. DON’T JUDGE ME. I’M NOT TRYNA HEAR IT! But once I made the purchase, I decided to document it. I hadn’t been consistent with one product to see results, so this was going to be that test.

I tried to take pictures monthly, and those are below. I want to get into the review first, then the results. If you’re impatient, take a couple of scrolls to see the results

The Review:

Faded reminds me of Ambi. If you have black women in your life, you know what Ambi is. This feels like the new school version of that. Down to the tin packaging! The smell too! You know what? Let’s talk about that.

It has this egg-like smell which I actually don’t mind, but if you see other reviews, they def mention it. It’s fine for me because, again… it smells like Ambi, LOL!

Apparently, it’s one of the key ingredients that help with the fading of dark spots. Which makes me really not care cause I want something that works! It’s a lil stinky but works?! Baby, SOLD!

How I use it:

Read that again. This is how I use it. Skincare is NOT one size fits all, so you definitely need to play around with what works for you.

AM: I wash my face with a salicylic acid cleanser, apply Faded, and left it on for at least 2 to 3 minutes, then followed up with my SPF/moisturizer

That’s it. I’ve never actually tried it in the PM, but maybe I should(??) Someone from Topicals let me know if yall read this!

Results so far:

*Disclaimer* These are my results from almost 12 months of use! I have also been receiving chemical peels from my estheti-bestie, Blanca @ Pure Elegance, for the past couple of months, which has def elevated my results. Also, life was happening in the fall, so there are a few months of pictures missing, but I was still using it.

Okay, now that yall have all the deets, here’s my face!

Here’s a comparison of when I first started using it up until the posting of this blog. I know I see a huge difference, and with the combination of this and the chemical peels I am receiving, I think my face is taking huge steps in the right direction!

I really do like this product in my skincare regimen, and it has def become a staple. I mean, I clearly love it; look at the picture I used for this post. That is my hand holding my 2nd tube of this, and it looks like it got run over by my car.

Oh! Points to them cause I’ve been using it for about a year and just finished my 2nd tube. (Do the math on that cause I don’t feel like it)

I feel like that’s good use per $$. Let me know if you try it?!
